City Waste
New York paid $4 million to the consulting firm McKinsey for a study on dealing with the escalating trash problem in the city. After weeks of research, McKinsey released a 95-page deck concluding that people need to start putting trash in containers, not bags. This absurd finding shocked many New Yorkers and was widely ridiculed. With 100+ photos of trash cans taken by myself, this project documents and delves into the way the city is handling trash through a publication, a motion graphic, and a web experience.
